President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Mr. Amaju Pinnick has confirmed that the contract of Super Eagles Technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr has been extended.

The German technician, who was hired by the NFF in August last year, was handed a target of qualifying the Eagles for next year’s FIFA tournament in Russia and also the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

But the two-year contract was signed with the option of extending the deal if Nigeria qualifies for the World Cup.

In an event in Lagos, where a short code *1945# – for fans to win 2018 World Cup slots from January – was launched on Monday, Pinnick stated that Rohr ‎has been handed a new two-year deal.

Pinnick also revealed that Rohr has been paid his outstanding salaries up until December.

He also expressed his concern that the Nigerian Women team, Super Falcons, seem to have been neglected, but promised that a new coach will be named in the next ten days.
