Why we’re proposing 24–team AFCON --Pinnick

President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick, has said Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh, must reach out to many stakeholders for the reconciliation process to be a success.

Pinnick, while speaking on a radio programme in Lagos Tuesday night, confirmed receiving Oliseh’s apology letter but added that the issue is beyond his office as NFF president.

“We have received his apology letter but many things has to be put in the right places. It is beyond my power to just say the NFF has forgiven him. He insulted the entire board and accused the board of insensitivity to the plight of the team,” he said.

Pinnick further stressed that the board is in consultation with the Technical Committee in determining the next line of action.

“He needs to reach out to the Technical Department which he said he won’t be answerable to. The technical committee has eminent technocrat such as Barrister Chris Green, Christian Chukwu, Paul Bassey, Victor Ikpeba and other top people. I can’t overrule their decision but can only appeal to them.

“Oliseh needs to reach out to the ex-internationals who were his colleague during his playing days and also the media especially the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN). So the reconciliation process is not just about me or the NFF,” he added.
