Pinnick, Rohr visit Ikeme in London hospital

President of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick, and Super Eagles Technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr, were in london Friday to see Carl Ikeme.

The first-choice Super Eagles and Wolverhampton Wanderers’ goalkeeper was recently diagnosed with acute leukaemia and has been on treatment.

The 31-year old, who missed out a part of last season due to injury, was on the verge of returning to full fitness before the unfortunate diagnosis.

The NFF, via their official Twitter handle on Friday posted a picture of the trio with the caption, “PHOTO: NFF President @PinnickAmaju alongside Coach Gernot Rohr visited Eagles goalie @Carl_Ikeme today in London.”

Earlier this week, Wolves confirmed that Ikeme will retain his No.1 jersey for the 2017/2018 season despite his battle with leukaemia.

The club, which already promised in a statement that the Nigerian “will receive the best possible care”, is currently working closely on fundraising with the Cure Leukaemia charity to show support and raise awareness.
