US President Donald Trump has revealed that a time and date for a planned summit between him and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has been set.

Trump who earlier suggested that the demilitarised zone, or DMZ, between North and South Korea would be an excellent venue for the planned summit, also revealed that the time and date for the meeting will shortly be made public.

“We now have a date and we have a location. We’ll be announcing it soon,” Trump said as he left the White House on a trip to Texas on Friday.

The comments by Trump is coming weeks after North Korea announced its decision to suspend nuclear tests with immediate effect.

The announcement was made by Kim in the capital of Pyongyang and its is coming amid increasing tensions on the Korean peninsula.

According to Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), North Korea will also close its nuclear test site as part of the country’s efforts to pursue economic growth and regional peace.
