Ekweremadu accuses Buhari’s aide, sacked CJ of stealing, doctoring his will

Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu has said it was by God’s will he is the deputy Senate president and that nobody will remove him.

The embattled lawmaker said this when he addressed his constituents at a ceremony of Ikeoha Foundation Adult Literacy Day and 2015/2016 scholarship and bursary award, which took place at Eziagu Local Government Secretariat, Enugu state on Saturday.

He said, “Nobody will remove me; it’s not by our power, it’s not by our might but by the special grace of God.”

Nevertheless, he assured the people that the beneficiaries of his scholarship scheme would continue to receive free education, should in any way those who have sworn to make sure he leaves his leadership position at the Senate succeed.

Since Ekweremadu’s emergence as Senate deputy president, the All Progressives Congress (APC), has never hidden their bitterness over that, the national chairman of the party, John Odigie-Oyegun recently made it clear that the party is still unhappy with his emergence.

Ripples Nigeria gathered that two of the conditions given to Senate President Bukola Saraki, for peace to return in the Senate and the forgery allegation initiated against him and his deputy withdrawn, is that the latter must resign his office and juicy positions in Senate Committees, given to APC senators.

While Saraki is said to have fulfilled one of the conditions with the last week reshuffling of the committees, what is now left is for Ekweremadu, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senator and minority party in the Senate, to resign his position.
