Members of the Plateau State House of Assembly have impeached and replaced the Speaker, Peter Azi, and Majority Leader, Henry Yunkwap.
This happened on Wednesday, as they were sacked by 17 out of the 24 members of the parliament that are majorly members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
While the former Speaker was immediately replaced by Joshua Izang Madaki, representing Jos East constituency; the position of the former Majority Leader was taken over by Hon. Nanlong, who represents Mikang constituency.
The two former leaders of the Assembly were reportedly thrown out of their executive seat over “irreconcilable differences” associated with the recent removal of Local Government Caretaker Committee chairmen in the state.
