Plateau extend lead with win as Lobi, Rivers lose. See other NPFL results

Plateau United have extended their lead at the top of the Nigeria Professional Football (NPFL) after securing a win at home on Sunday.

The Jos club won 2-1 over Nasarawa United, while Lobi Stars and Rivers United, who are close chasers of the title, both lost away.

Amos Gyang scored from the spot to put Plateau ahead, while Chinedu Ohanachom equalised for the vistors just before the break, before Ibrahim Mustapha netted a late winner as joy erupted at the New Jos Stadium.

Second placed Rivers United fell to a 1-0 defeat against Enugu Rangers at the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium, with Chinonso Eziekwe scoring the only goal of the game.

Lobi Stars fell to a 2-0 defeat to Heartland in Okigwe, with Pascal Eze and Chukwuemeka Obioma scoring for the hosts.

Defending champions Enyimba recorded the biggest win of the day, thrashing Sunshine Stars 3-0 in Aba.

In Ilorin, Kwara United beat Wikki Tourists 1-0 with Chinedu Ufere scoring the winning goal eight minutes from time.
