PLATEAU: In latest attack, former Head of Service, 2 others killed by gunmen

Reports have emerged that gunmen attacked Wereh Village in Barkin-Ladi, Plateau State Tuesday, killing a former Plateau State Head of Service, Moses Gwom, and two other persons.

The assailants who were said to have invaded the village at night, shot at many people, before running into the bush.

The Public Relations Officer of the Plateau Police Command, Terna Tyopev, confirmed the incident, it took place “around 8 pm on Tuesday”.

He added that investigations had begun toward uncovering the people behind the attack.

This attack is the third such attack in the last few weeks in Plateau State.

Recall that last week, gunmen reportedly killed Alhaji Mohammed Suleiman, the village head of Gyangyang in Jhar Chiefdom of Kanam Local Government.

Twenty-five others had also been reportedly killed at Ncha village in Miango, Bassa Local Government, only a week earlier.
