Plateau United stay top as MFM keep up chase

Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) leaders, Plateau United, held tight to their grip to the top spot with a 2-0 win over 3SC on Sunday, as MFM kept up their chase with an away win.

With the win, Plateau United took their point tally to 58, staying three points ahead of second place MFM, who defeated bottom team Remo Stars 1-0 in Sagamu.

Emmanuel Odafe and Ibeh Johnson scored in the 16th and 78th minute respectively to secure the three vital points for Plateau United, while the only goal in MFM’s away victory came by Austin Ogunye in the 71st minute.

But with six games remaining, the title race in the Nigerian top-flight is still very much open.
