Plateau Utd fall at Ilorin as MFM close gap at top

Nigeria Professional Football League leaders, Plateau United, dropped points at the top after losing 2-0 to ABS in Ilorin on Sunday as title hopes suffered a setback.

Samuel Adedeji opened the scoring five minutes into the game via a penalty before a strike from Akinbo Segun in the 65th minute cemented the win for the hosts.

However, Plateau remain at the top of the table on 62 points, only three points ahead of second placed MFM, who edged Gombe United 1-0 at the Agege Stadium in Lagos.

It was goal scorer, Monsuru Bashiru, who fired MFM to 59 points with just three games to go.
