Players, officials of Kano Pillars rewarded $1,000 each by Ganduje

As a reward for emerging champions of the 2019 Aiteo Cup, players and officials of Kano Pillars have been rewarded with $1,000 each by kano governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

The cash reward is said to be just a part of the preliminary gesture by the governor before the grand gesture slated to be disclosed during the upcoming Award Dinner Night.

This was announced by the club’s website as contained in a press statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary of the Kano State Governor, Abba Anwar.

As an appreciation to their victory he said “We are giving you this One Thousand Dollar ($1,000) to each and every player, with members of your technical committee. I think your number is forty (40). This is just one out of other gestures to come your way,” the statement read.

Pillars won the 2019 Aiteo Cup final following a 4-3 penalty shootout victory over Niger Tornadoes on Sunday, July 29th.

The game, played at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium Kaduna, saw the Sai Masu Gida pick their very first Federation Cup title.

The victory was a consolation for the Kano club, who were beaten in the final in the 2018 edition by Enugu Rangers.

When the players and officials of the club visited Ganduje on Monday, the governor said, “Kano Pillars is the best football team in Nigeria.”

“And all Nigerians know this and they understand this very well, when Pillars beats Niger Tornadoes. We have every reason to celebrate. Our players are disciplined, committed and extremely patriotic,” he added.

The 2019/2020 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Season To Kickoff September 22nd, 2019.

Kano Pillars FC will resume training today (Tuesday) at their Sani Abacha Stadium ground ahead of the all important CAF Champions League first leg tie against Asante Kotoko on Saturday 10th August, 2019.
