Plot to remove Metuh thickens

The national publicity secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is currently swimming in troubled waters, as the Anambra state chapter of the party says it has suspended him over allegations that he embezzled party funds.
The party’s Anambra State Publicity Secretary Kenneth Arinze, in a statement Friday (today) said that Metuh’s suspension followed a previous suspension from Otolo Nnewi Ward I, which is his party ward.
This has increased speculations in some quarters that it is part of the plot to remove Metuh and some other national officers who were viewed to have played a major role in the party’s loses during the last general election.
Rising from its executive meeting held on Wednesday night, the Anambra PDP said that “after going through the weighty allegations laid against Olisa Metuh and finding them to be heinous and warranting the suspension, in compliance with the provisions of the PDP constitution, hereby ratifies the suspension and forwarding same to National Working Committee (NWC) of our great party to ratify same and stop Olisa Metuh from further parading himself as a member and officer of our great party pending when he will subject himself to the party disciplinary committee”.
In a communiqué issued after the meeting, signed by the chairman Prince Ossy Ezenwa, Secretary Hon. Basil Ejidike, Publicity Secretary, Hon. Kenneth Arinze and three other executive members, the party highlighted a long list of allegations against Metuh which it said he must clear himself of.
It lamented that Metuh who it said has never voted in any election in Anambra state has done incalculable damage to the party and unfortunately, he and his ilk decided to sack themselves from public life.

Reacting, Metuh said the move is a fallacy, adding, that those behind the move are not genuine members of the party.
He said the plot is the handiwork of the All Progressives Congress (APC) but said he will not dignify his detractors with a response.
“Go and investigate the people who are talking about my suspension. If APC people decide to put something in the press and say they are suspending me, do you expect me to respond to that?. There are more important things to do than to respond to APC.
“You think as I am anybody in my village or town will say they are suspending me? Those people have no names. They are people who are not members of our party. They are people who already moved from Anambra North because the governor is from there”.
“How do you think the PDP will suspend me. We are working with all our national and state assembly members and the PDP in Anambra” he said
