Pochettino forgives Danny Rose over 'ill-judged' comment

Following Danny Rose’s expression of regret over his criticism of club’s transfer policy, Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino says he has forgiven him.

The 27-year old told the Sun on Thursday that he felt he and his team-mates are underpaid and that Spurs need to sign well-known players and “not ones you had to Google”.

But on Friday,Rose, through his management company tendered an apology adding that his comments were “ill-judged.”

In response, Pochettino said: “I forgive him and now we move on.

“Of course [he has a future at Tottenham]. Nothing has changed in my vision or perception here.”

The England international is reportedly a target of Premier League champions, Chelsea, and Manchester United. His statement came amid links with rival clubs.

Rose, who signed a new five-year contract last year, joined Tottenham from Leeds United in July 2007.

He has made 144 appearances for the club after becoming a first-team regular in 2013.

Tottenham finished second behind Chelsea in the Premier League last season and have not signed any players so far this summer.

They begin the campaign this season against promoted Newcastle United on Saturday.
