Pogba shines as United defeat Middlesbrough 2-1

Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial scored two late goals on Saturday to help Manchester United come from behind to beat Middlesbrough 2-1 at Old Trafford.

The win makes it United’s five consecutive Premier League victories, which is a first since April 2015, when they won six in a row.

Grant Leadbitter scored the opener in the 67th minute to put the visitors ahead after a goal by Ibrahimovic was cancelled earlier by the referee. The leveler by Anthony Martial and the winner by Paul Pogba were struck in at the 84th and 85th minute respectively.

Pogba made 71 passes in the opposition half, scored the winning goal just a minute after the equaliser from Martial, and was crowned the Man of the Match.

The French international, who joined the Reds last summer at a record fee, has now scored a total of 6 goals this season and has made 3 assists in his last four Premier League appearances.

Jose Mourinho’s men will aim to continue their winning run when they travel to West Ham on Monday, while Middlesbrough will host champions Leicester City, who defeated West Ham 1-0 on Saturday.
