Poland vs Nigeria friendly good for both nations -Rohr

Super Eagles Technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr says his side’s international friendly game against Poland in Wroclaw on Friday will be beneficial to both nations.

Poland were drawn in Group H of the 2018 World Cup alongside Senegal, Japan and Colombia; while Nigeria will battle Croatia, Iceland and Argentina.

Rohr believes the friendly game between both sides will help Poland prepare ahead of their group stage encounter with African side, Senegal; as well as help Nigeria prepare for Europeans, Croatia.

“We know very well the Senegalese team who play good football, they have a strong team,” the German gaffer said during his pre-match press conference on Thursday night.

“I suppose we are invited because they (Poland) are playing Senegal (at the World Cup). And we and Senegal are the only two black African teams at the World Cup, the other three African teams (Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco) are from North Africa.

“It will be good preparation for Poland but also for us because Croatia has very high level. And we play Serbia next Tuesday in London so we have two good preparation games for the World Cup,” he stated.

Rohr’s men will be playing without team captain, John Mikel Obi at the match scheduled to hold at the Municipal Stadium in Wroclaw.

The game will kickoff by 8:45p.m Nigerian time.
