Police announce commencement of fresh recruitment

The Nigeria Police has announced the commencement of recruitment of constables.

Jimoh Moshood, spokesman of the force, made the announcement.

In a circular released on Thursday, Moshood said applicants must have passion for a career in the force and must satisfy certain requirements.

He added that the application for the recruitment exercise must be submitted online and it is absolutely free.

Some of the requirements state that applicants must be a citizen of Nigeria and possess a National Identity Number (NIN).

Also, the applicants must not be less than 18 years of age or more than 25 years old.

“Must have an O-level Certificate at least five (5) credits level passes including Mathematics and English Language in not more than two sittings in WASSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB,” the circular read.

“Must be of good character and must not have been convicted of any criminal offence. Must not be less than 1.67 metres in height for men and 1.64 metres for women.

“Must not have less than 86cm (34 inches) expanded chest measurement (for men only).”

The circular added that applicants must not have any deformities or abnormalities and must undergo medical examination before final selection.

However, persons with multiple applications would be disqualified while the application closes in six weeks.
