Police arrest 15-year-old housewife for allegedly putting rat poison in husband’s food

The Police Command in Kano has arrested a 15-year-old housewife, Hassana Lawan, of Bechi Village, in Kumbotso Local Government Area of the state for allegedly poisoning her 33-year-old husband, Sale Abubakar.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Abdullahi Haruna, confirmed the arrest in a statement issued to newsmen in Kano on Tuesday.

According to Haruna, the Command received a report on Tuesday at about 2 p.m., that the suspect gave her husband food with rat poison.

He added that the victim was taken to Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital, Kano, for treatment while the Command had begun investigation into the matter

The PPRO said that the suspect would be charged to court as soon as the investigations are completed.
