Police arrest 39 over attempt to destroy KEDCO facilities in Kano

Not less than 36 persons have been arrested by the Police in Kano state for attempting to destroy Kano Electricity Distribution Company facilities at Zangon Dakata area of Kano.

The Command’s spokesman DSP Haruna Abdullahi who confirmed the arrest on Thursday in a statement said the suspects were among a crowd that stormed the area protesting poor power supply before attempting to destroy KEDCO facilities at Zangon Dakata power substation.

Abdullahi noted that the suspects had been transferred to the state Criminal Investigation Department for investigation while order had been restored to the area.

He added that the culprits will be charged to court following proper investigations.
