A former media aide to Senator Theodore Ahamefula Orji, the former Governor of Abia State, Mr Don Norman Obinna, was arrested last Friday evening while featuring in a live political radio programme at Flo FM radio station, Factory Road, Umuahia.

He was whisked away by stern-looking Police officers who stormed the station in a commando-style and took him to an unknown destination.

No reason was given for his arrest, but a staff of Flo FM, who simply identified himself as Sampson, stated that the officers stormed the station while the programme was being aired and pounced on him immediately he finished the programme and was about leaving.

A source in political quarters suggested that his arrest might not be unconnected with the content of the live programme, which was simultaneously aired on two other radio stations in the state capital.

When contacted, the Abia State Commissioner of Police, Mr Etim Ene Okon, confirmed his arrest through a reply to two text messages sent to his number, stating that he was on the wanted list of the police.

The Sun, Sunday 3, March.
