Again, Police arrest PDP stalwart Adeyanju over peaceful protest

The former head of new media for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and convener of Pro-Democracy and Good Governance Group, Concerned Nigerians, Prince Deji Adeyanju has again been arrested by the Nigerian Police for embarking on a peaceful protest.

In the new protest, the activist was demanding for the freedom of renowned blogger and convener of PDP National Youth Frontier, Mr Austin Okai, who Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) operatives arrested following allegation of criticisms of Kogi State government.

Adeyanju was said to have been arrested alongside the co-convener of the group, Mr. Ariyo Raphael Dare, in front of the National Human Rights Commission in Abuja.

The security operatives during the arrest were seen in video spraying water cannon on the peaceful protesters before finally picking the two activists.

The arrest came just three days after Adeyanju was arrested for carrying out a peaceful protest against the planned secret trial of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Leader Nnamdi Kanu by the Federal Government.
