Police arrest, whisk away ex-Gov Lamido
Former governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido, was on Sunday arrested and whisked away to Zone One Command of the Nigeria Police in Kano by the Nigeria Police Force.
While details of his arrest are still vague, it was however learnt that it may not be unconnected with his alleged incitement of his supporters in his state to stop the conduct of the coming local government elections being organised by the state incumbent Governor Muhammad Badaru.
The elections for which he was alleged to have asked his supporters to stop are slated to hold on July 1, 2017.

The arrest of the former governor took place at his Sharada Kano home on Sunday morning.
While police is yet to officially react in respect to the arrest, Lamido was reportedly still in police custody late Sunday afternoon.
Lamido, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, is believed to be among politicians from the North, ready to challenge the All Progressives Congress President Muhammadu Buhari, should he decide to run for a second term.

Serve him right. How can he be inciting people to stall election because of his influence, though I know his arrest is connected to his corrupt acts.

Noooo, his arrest is based on what he said. It’s tantamount to treason against jigawa state

Lamido is a good man, he’s not that kind Of person who will tell his followers to disturb election.

You’re very stupid and I’m not sorry for saying it. I’m very sure you don’t know what you’re saying, go and check Lamido’s history and you’d understand he has no good image whatsoever

Lamido should be detained until the election is over. He’s an enemy of Nigeria not Buhari alone.

Why not arrest him in jigawa? Why Kano? Well, Lamido is not a small politician, so am sure, he will be back soon.
