Police arrest 47 suspected kidnappers, armed robbers in Nasarawa

The Enugu State Police Command has arrested a 30-year-old woman, Ijeoma Nnaji for allegedly killing her daughter.

The spokeman of the police command, Ebere Amaraizu, stated this in a statement on Saturday, adding that the suspect, a native of Amankanu Amuri in the Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State, was alleged to have killed her a year and five months old daughter, Chiemerie Nnaji, on Thursday, May 30, 2019, for unknown reasons.

Amaraizu further added that the state Commissioner of Police, Sulaiman Balarabe, has directed operatives of the state Criminal Investigations Department to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter to unravel the reason for her action.

He said: “A woman identified as one Ijeoma Nnaji was said to have killed her daughter identified as Chiemerie Nnaji of about one year and five months over a yet-to-be established reasons. It was however gathered that the body of the dead child has been deposited at Agbani morgue.’’
