ENUGU: Robbers raid policemen at checkpoints, snatch AK47 rifles

The Delta State Police Command said on Thursday at least 18 suspected miscreants have been arrested in connection with Wednesday’s protest against the state government’s decision to lockdown the state following the outbreak of coronavirus in the country.

A group of women took to the streets of Sapele to protest the two weeks extension of the lockdown imposed on Delta by the Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to curb the spread of the coronavirus in the state.

The women’s peaceful protest was hijacked by some youths in the area who turned it into a violent situation.
