Police arrests 21 suspected political thugs in Kaduna
Police operatives have arrested at least 21 persons for an alleged attempt to disrupt last weekend’s local government election in Kaduna State.
The spokesman for the state police command, Mansir Hassan, confirmed the development in a statement on Thursday in Kaduna.
Hassan said the suspects were arrested by operatives attached to Operation Fushin Kada for attempting to block transportation routes and disrupting the distribution of election materials by ad-hoc staff deployed for the election.

He added that sharp weapons and hard drugs were recovered from the suspects.
The spokesman said: “The suspects are currently in custody and will be charged accordingly.
“Investigations are ongoing to determine if there are further links to other individuals or groups involved in the attempted criminal act.”
