Police arrests 39-year-old man with stolen bus in Kogi

Police operatives in Kogi have arrested 39-year-old Nnamdi Osita in connection with the theft of a Toyota Coaster bus in the state.

The bus with Abuja registration number GWA 488 ZD was reportedly stolen over a year ago at Nyanya, Abuja, and was recovered from the suspect.

The spokesman for the state police command, Williams Ovye-Aya, said in a statement on Saturday that the suspect was arrested on January 23 following an intelligence report.

He said: “The new State Police Commissioner, CP Miller Dantawaye, explained that the stolen bus was spotted traveling along the Abuja-Lokoja highway, which led the police to stop the vehicle and arrest the suspect.

“He was arrested by operatives attached to the ‘B’ Division Lokoja, in collaboration with other security agencies at about 16:45hrs on January 23.

“The investigation into the incident is currently ongoing.”
