Police arrests two suspected gunrunners in Kaduna
Police operatives in Kaduna have arrested two suspected gunrunners in the Zaria local government area of the state.
The spokesman for the state police command, Mansir Hassan, disclosed this in a statement on Friday in Kaduna.
He said the suspects were arrested by operatives attached to the 47 Police Mobile Force Squadron Zaria during a routine patrol along the Zaria-Jos Road on Thursday.
He listed the suspects as Zubairu Musa, and Nasiru Saidu from Kankara local government area of Katsina State.

According to Hassan, the suspects were found with a bag containing eight locally made pump-action guns, one locally made pistol and 65 live cartridges.
“Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects were involved in the illegal trafficking of firearms.
“They are currently cooperating with the police to aid in the apprehension of their accomplices and to uncover the full extent of the gunrunning network within Kaduna State,” the spokesman added.
