Police arrests two suspected kidnappers in Edo
Police operatives in Edo have arrested two suspected kidnappers in the state.
The spokesman for the state police command, Moses Yamu, confirmed the development to journalists on Saturday in Benin City.
He commended the people of the state for cooperating with the police and solicited more useful information.
Yamu said: “On 05/02/2025 at about 0945hrs, upon receipt of credible information that suspected kidnappers were sighted somewhere at Ugonoba village in Uhunmwode LGA.

“The DPO Okuaihe leading the Operatives of Operation Rescue stormed the location. These suspected kidnappers took flight upon sighting the police; they were chased, and the duo of Kamsiru Abubakar, 20 years old, and Akhor Daraman, 28 years old, were arrested.
“During preliminary investigation, and as the news of the arrest circulated in the town, some individuals who were victims identified the suspects to be part of the gang that kidnapped them last year.
“The investigation has been expanded to include arresting other members of the kidnap syndicate.”
