The police in Taraba have confirmed the death of six people after a clash on Thursday between Kona and Fulani groups in Jalingo Local Government Area of the state.

According to reports, the incident occurred after a misunderstanding ensued between both groups over farming and grazing of land.

The state command’s spokesperson, DSP David Misal, who confirmed to newsmen, said many houses were burnt during the clash while those who sustained injuries were receiving treatment at different health centres in Jalingo.

He added that five persons had been arrested in connection with the incident while investigation was still in progress.
