Police deny Senate delegation access to Dino Melaye

A delegation of the Senate, led by Deputy Majority leader, Senator Bala Ibn Na’Allah, which was dispatched to ascertain actual health condition of hospitalised Sen. Dino Melaye, was denied access to the senator.

The Senators were prevented from meeting with their colleague by armed policemen station at Melaye’s hospital ward.

They were told that there was “instruction from above” not to allow them see him.

However, they were recalled to meet Chairman of the National Hospital Board, Hon. Patricia Etteh, as they made to leave.

Reports indicate that the embattled Senator Melaye from Kogi State, is currently in the intensive care unit of the Hospital.

In the meantime, President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki has revealed that he has not been able to talk to the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris in the last 24 hours.

Following the development, the Senate has adjourned in solidarity with Melaye.
