Police detains 14 goats in Osun

The police in Osun State on Monday arrested a vehicle loaded with 14 goats in Ede. The goats were detained as the driver of the vehicle ran away.

The Osun State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Mrs Folasade Odoro confirmed the incident, adding that the goats were detained as exhibits and that the matter was under investigation.

According to the police command’s spokeswoman, the goats would remain in police custody until the owners showed up to offer explanation on the suspicious movement of the goats.

According to reports, a team of policemen, patrolling Sekonna Highway, intercepted a red coloured Mitsubishi car conveying the goats.

The driver of the car was said to have refused to stop when policemen at Sekona junction attempted to stop him. He reportedly chased up to cemetery area of the town before he abandoned the vehicle and ran away.
