Police foils bandit attacks, rescues 30 hostages in Katsina
Police operatives in Katsina on Wednesday foiled multiple attacks by suspected bandits and rescued 30 hostages in the state.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the state police command said the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Dutsinma Police Division, CSP Bello Abdullahi Gusau, led a combined team of police and vigilantes to raid on a bandits’ hideout in Dutsinma local government area of the state.

Seven hostages kidnapped from Farar Kasa and Shanga villages were freed while one AK-47 rifle was recovered by the operatives.
“The Commissioner of Police, CP Aliyu Abubakar Musa, on Thursday, praised the bravery of the officers involved and urged the public to continue supporting the police with timely information to combat crime.
“This breakthrough is a significant milestone in the fight against banditry in Katsina State, and the police command remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens,” the statement added.
