The state Commissioner of Police, David Iloyonomon, disclosed this to journalists on Saturday in Jalingo.
He said the operation carried out in collaboration with a vigilante group in the state followed the abduction of four persons at Komi village in Ardo-Kola local government area of the state by gunmen.
The CP added that one of the kidnappers was once arrested and charged to court but went back to kidnapping after he was released.
“The kidnappers ambushed the security operatives when they were chased to rescue the four kidnap victims but due to superior firepower they fled.
