Police links Sen Sani to murder case, summons him

The Senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, has been linked to an ongoing homicide investigation and summoned by the Kaduna State Police Command.

In a letter to the Senate by the state police commissioner, Austin Iwar, he said the senator should appear on April 30 at the Command Headquarters in Kaduna for questioning.

The police said that the summon was in connection with “a case of criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide transferred to this office by 1 Division, Nigerian Army, Kaduna, alongside exhibit audio CD in which your name was mentioned by the principal suspect.”

The letter went further to say, “This is to enable us fairly and timely conclude investigation into the matter.”

The letter was addressed to Mr Sani through the Clerk of the National Assembly with a copy forwarded to Senate President Bukola Saraki.

While the case for which the senator is being fingered was not immediately identified at the time of filing this story, there have been however, allegations by the senator that the state government of Governor Nasir El-Rufai is bent on tarnishing his political image.
