Police nab 2 pipeline ‘vandals’ in Ogun

Two suspects, Tunde Ramoni and Yinka Olufowobi have been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for alleged vandalisation of petroleum products pipelines.

In a statement made by the police spokesman Abimbola Oyeyemi on Thursday, the suspects were arrested during a routine patrol on Simawa Road in Sagamu.

He disclosed that the suspects made attempts to escape but were caught after sacs of petroleum were found in their vehicle.

The police spokesman added that upon interrogation, the suspects confessed that they were coming from Oloparun Village via Ogijo where they got the product from vandalised pipeline.

They also confessed to getting the product in collaboration with accomplices in Ilara area of Ogijo.

Ogun state Police Commissioner Bashir Makama directed that the suspects be transferred to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad SARS for further investigation.
