Police nabs 2 members of notorious armed robbery gang

Two members of a notorious armed robbery gang terrorising residents of railway line by Moshalasi Alhaja area of Agege in Lagos State have been arrested by men of the Lagos State Police Command following a raid of the vicinity.

Reports say a distress call was put through to the police by residents of the area who reported that a gang of notorious robbers had been terrorisizing them and when the police team arrived, the robbery suspects on sighting the security operatives opened fire.

The robbers were, however, overpowered in the ensuing gun battle with the police as two of the robbery suspects were arrested while the other gang members are said to be on the run.

When arrested, exhibits such as a cut to size locally-made double barrel, six (6) rounds of ammunition, eleven (11) handsets of different brands, laptops, two (2) television sets and wraps of Indian hemp were recovered from the suspects.

According to the command’s PPRO, SP Dolapo Badmos, the suspects who have confessed to various crimes will be transferred to SARS as efforts are also underway to apprehend other members of the gang.
