Murder suspect arrested after five months on the run

A 26-year-old man, Ayodele Odebiyi has been paraded by the Ogun State Police Command for raping a 22-year old lady.

Described as a serial rapist, Odebiyi was paraded on Saturday before journalists at State Headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta, by the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi.

According to Oyeyemi, Odebiyi raped the victim along the Sango Ota-Atan road in Ado Oddo/Ota Local Government Area, adding that he took advantage of the girl after she entered a vehicle as he, Odebiyi pretended to be a commercial driver.

He further disclosed that the suspect forcefully undressed the girl and raped her on Tuesday. The victim’s noise however attracted passers-by, leading to the arrest of the suspect at Winners Chapel by the police.

Oyeyemi said: “The fact is that this is a serial rapist who has been doing it for some time now. His modus operandi is that he has a vehicle that he always puts on the road. When he sees an innocent girl, he will pick her up.
