Police post four commissioners to Bayelsa in two weeks

Published

There is confusion in Bayelsa State over the deployment of four Commissioners of Police in the state within two weeks by the Inspector-General of Police, Mr Ibrahim Idris.

It was learnt that the police authorities were influenced to redeploy the CPs by some politicians who were uncomfortable with the officers posted to the state.

Investigations showed that two weeks after the police authorities redeployed the state Commissioner of Police, Mr Don Awunah, to the Force Headquarters, Abuja, he was replaced with CP Joseph Mukan.

But barely 48 hours later, Mukan was removed and replaced with CP Ahmed Bello.
