The Kogi State Command has rescued three children that were left stranded after suspected kidnappers seized their parents in Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi State on Sunday.

The State Commissioner of Police in Kogi, Mr. Hakeem Busari, who disclosed this to the media on Monday in Lokoja, said the kidnapped couple is one Mr. Henshaw Ativie and his wife, adding that they were kidnapped along Itakpe-Adogo road in Adavi Local Government Area of the state.

According to Busari, the couple, their seven-year-old son, and four-year-old twin daughters were travelling to Edo in their Jeep when they ran into the kidnappers on Sunday afternoon.

The kidnappers were said to have forced the vehicle to a stop by shooting at the tyres before ordering the occupants to come down. He added that the couple were led to the Bush and the children left alone.

The police boss however said that the police team that rescued the children, found one of the twins was hit by bullets fired by the kidnappers.
