Police restrict human, vehicular movement ahead of Kano rerun

As all preparations are being finalized ahead of the supplementary governorship election in the state, the Kano State Police Command has restricted movement of motor vehicles, tricycles and all other means of transportation across the 44 local government areas of the state.

In a press statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Abdullahi Haruna in Kano on Thursday, it was explained that on the March 23 election, movement will be restricted between 06:00hrs and 18:00hrs

The police explained that the restriction, which is common practice during elections in Nigeria, is to ensure free and fair gubernatorial supplementary election in the state.

While voter security has been assured, eligible voters have been advised to trek to their respective polling units in order to exercise their civic responsibility.
