Police reunite stolen child with parents after seven years

A child identified as Mmerichukwu, who was stolen at the age of seven in 2012 has been recovered by the Police in Anambra and reunited with his parents.

It was learnt that a suspect identified as David Nwachukwu, who is now in prison custody along with two others, stole the boy from the biological mother, Azubuike Jennifer before their arrest on May 29 by Police detectives attached to the Command’s Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).

The Public Relations Officer of the state’s Command, Mr Haruna Mohammed, in a statement on Wednesday confirmed the arrest adding that another eight-year old child simply identified as Ifeoma was also rescued from the suspects.

He noted that a detailed account could not be given concerning the stolen girl who had also been reunited with her parents.

The PRO said that the suspects will be brought to book and face the full wrath of the law.
