Police say 8 people killed in Zamfara are suspects

A statement released by the Public Relations Officer of the Police Command in Zamfara State, DSP Muhammad Shehu has revealed that the eight victims who were burnt during the Zamfara blasphemy killings are among the suspects.
The statement by DSP Shehu also informed that one Bashir Adamu from Kuryan Madaro of Kauran Namoda Local Government Area of the state is now in police net in connection with the case which now labels all those killed ‎in the attack as suspects.
Recalling the incident which caused an eruption of crisis at the Abdu Gusau Polytechnic in Talata-Mafara, Zamfara State on August 22nd, a student who allegedly made a blasphemous statement about Prophet Muhammad was attacked by his colleagues.
Reports say after he was beaten to stupor and left for dead, a man simply identified Tajudeen came to his rescue by rushing him to a nearby hospital.
On hearing that the victim had been rescued and taken to hospital, the angry Muslim youths reportedly went to Tajudeen’s house, setting it ablaze, burning the occupants of the house to death in the process.
