INSECURITY: We are reviewing our strategies, IGP says

The Inspector-General of Police, Adamu Mohammed, has ordered that disciplinary action be taken against some police officers caught on camera destroying the wares of business owners in Lagos.

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, had on Tuesday ordered the closure of markets dealing in non-essential commodities as part of measures to halt the spread of the disease in the state.

The officers, who acted on the directive of the state Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, went out on Thursday and moved against business owners flouting the governor’s directive.

They allegedly destroyed wares found in shops and other business outlets, ostensibly to serve as a deterrent to others.
