Political rivalries are just entertainment – Fayemi
Former Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has described conflicts among politicians as largely performative.
He said the disagreements serve more as entertainment for Nigerians than actual hostility.
Speaking at his 60th birthday thanksgiving service held at St. Martin’s Catholic Church, Isan Ekiti, on Sunday, Fayemi dismissed the perception of deep-seated political animosities, particularly those amplified by social media.
He said: “So, all these things you read on social media are for your entertainment.

“Many will wonder why Governor Segun Oni is here. During his birthday, I spent the entire day with him. Governor Ayodele Fayose, too, would have been here without hesitation if he was around.”
The former minister of solid minerals emphasized that despite political differences, Ekiti politicians are not enemies.
“The vision we have always had is a state that will not be separated by political divides.
“We might belong to different political parties, but there is one party that we all belong to—the Ekiti Party, the Ekiti Progressive Party—and our governor is carrying on with that vision,” he stated.
