Gov'ship candidate slams Bauchi governor for allegedly wasting N80m monthly on food

Governor of Bauchi State, Mohammed Abubakar, has offered reasons why he would now challenge the defeat of his re-election bid as the governor of the state.

According to him, that is what President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, and All Progressives Congress (APC) national chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, want.

Incumbent governor Abubakar had since congratulated Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Mohammed Bala, who defeated him in the state’s governorship poll.

He however said that as a loyal party member, he has no option than now drag Bala and the PDP to court to contest his defeat, since Buhari, Osinbajo, and Oshiomhole after he recently visited them in Abuja advised that he challenged his defeat.

Abubakar, who has assembled four SANs to chase the case, was said to have stated this when he spoke with his supporters at his campaign office in Bauchi.

The video of the meeting, which was seen by a Daily Trust reporter, was later confirmed by the Commissioner of Information, Ibrahim Sade.

The governor said, “I went to Abuja as a loyal and obedient party member. I met with the National Chairman of the APC, I met with the Vice President of Nigeria, I also met with the President of Nigeria.

“All these three offices said that the APC will file a suit in court to challenge the election results of Bauchi.

“As an obedient member, I accept to go with that decision. Everyone knows when the results of the election were announced, I conceded defeat but I contested on the ticket of the party and the party has refused to accept the outcome.”
