2019: Junaid dubs Buhari a failure, warns north against anointed candidate who’ll die or fail due to illness

The lingering face-off between the presidency and Junaid Mohammed, an avowed critic of the Buhari administration, is not about to end.

Unfazed by the recent tongue-lashing he received from the seat of power over his alleged unguarded utterances, the political maverick has said that the presidency is not telling Nigerians the entire truth concerning President Buhari’s health.

On Sunday, Shehu Garba, a Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, had described Junaid as a habitual abuser of leaders and, therefore, warned Nigerians to be “wary of prejudiced and biased critics like Dr. Junaid Mohammed who are more interested in personal publicity than respecting facts and figures about their claims…”

On Monday, however, Junaid joined issues with Garba saying, “I believe Shehu is under pressure which is why he attacked me. However, I believe strongly they need to stop lying to Nigerians about Mr President’s health. Can they actually tell Nigerians what this medical leave or routine check-up is? They don’t seem to be telling us the truth.”

In the Monday statement authored by Junaid, there were also highlights of what he considered essential shortcomings of the Buhari-led administration. He said, “I think the question the President needs to ask himself is that after one year he has taken over the reigns of power, what has changed? Is Nigeria better off than when he took over on May 29, 2015? The truth is that Nigeria is worse off today than when Buhari took over the reigns of power.

“Every Nigerian today is worse off and nothing seems to be working under this government. Some who are rich in 2015 cannot say same today due to the economic woes that Nigeria is presently experiencing and we cannot continue to close our eyes off it,” he added.

Junaid would have no more of Buhari’s excuses saying, “By now, his administration should have stopped blaming the Jonathan government for their woes. I believe that in Politics, you take assets and liabilities”.

Well known for his acidic comments on successive administrations, Junaid it was who went public with a long list of President Buhari’s alleged relatives appointed into sensitive government positions. The presidency is yet to dispute the allegations.

Junaid made is points already and they are solid points anyone can relate with. I think the presidency is truly telling Nigerians lies. President Buhari was out of the country before they informed the members of the country, the presidency became angry when rumours of Buhari’s death surfaced in the media, they didn’t hesitate to fight those who criticized Buhari’s health. Buhari is sicker than we thought

May God bless this man called Junaid, we need more of people like this who can fearlessly speak up in the country. This Buhari’s administration is woeful and not truthful. The president is sick and we all know, we can’t tell him not to treat himself, but, we don’t want words that are subject to misinterpretation, how are we even sure Buhari is in UK as claimed by Shehu? The letter he submitted to the senate himself didn’t have any location.

So do you expect buhari to have made mention of where he is going in the letter so that people can start saying they come to pay him unnecessary visit?
Where ever buhari is, is our business as a public figure but we should be more concern of his health and pray for him to come home safe and sound so he can continuing fixing up Nigeria.

You have no points at all. It is a fundamental must for us to know where our president is at any point in time.

I think we need to give Junaid an award for successful renewing his relevance in the public. After he has lost relevance, he thinks he can come up to criticize Buhari? he’s only seeking attention. No one should listen to Junaid who has failed to see the better parts of Buhari’s administration. People like Junaid are not expected to be in the society! Buahri has been fighting corruption and making sure Nigeria gets all looted funds back to the country, how can a country grow when corruption has eaten deep into the roots of our politicians who now believe becoming a leader is a legal means of embezzling public funds? Juniad, please shift oneside.

      What nonsense are you saying?
What corruption is buhari fighting that people are suffering ? You said he is fighting corruption, yet he is not fighting the corruption going on among Apc governors and stalwarts.
He promised to reduce the exchange rate of dollar to naira, yet everyday , naira is depreciating. Petroleum price hike is imminent as petroleum marketers are not allowed to buy dollar at the official bank rate except they buy from bureau de change while politicians have direct access to buy dollar at official exchange rate and yet buhari is there watching all these.
      Forget your talk.
      Buhari is a failure

“Every Nigerian today is worse off and nothing seems to be working under this government. Some who are rich in 2015 cannot say same today..”

I beg to differ sir. In the midst of the recession, millionaires are being made. The economy is just favouring a few.

Yes because of the recession. The rich are getting poor why the poor are getting poorer.so you don’t expect the economy to favour everyone
