PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION TRIBUNAL: Bulkachuwa tells Atiku, PDP to file application seeking her disqualification

The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal has scheduled 2p.m for the ruling of an application filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) seeking the disqualification of the President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa, as a member and the head of the panel.

The Court last week adjourned till today to hear the application of the PDP.

The PDP is asking Justice Bulkachuwa to recuse herself because she is married to a senator-elect of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Counsel to Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the PDP, Livy Ozuokwu had asked the Chairman of the tribunal to recuse herself on the grounds that she will be biased in the case.

The tribunal had last week granted the request of Ozuokwu to file the application on Thursday last week.
