PRESIDENTIAL RACE: Buhari in early lead
Results so far collated and announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) show the incumbent president and candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Muhammadu Buhari, in an early lead from elections held on Saturday.
Buhari who is seeking a second term in office has taken the lead against his major rival, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, who is following closely behind.
Results of the elections so far announced by some Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs) in some states, as well as at the National Collation Centre in Abuja puts Buhari ahead of the other contestants for the highest political seat in the country.

From the official figures announced by INEC, of the five states announced, the APC is leading with 144,539 votes.
