British PM arrives Nigeria, meets Buhari

Embattled Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Theresa May has opted for a plan B as she again seeks to convince Members of Parliament about how she plans to proceed with Brexit.

According to some opposition politicians who met with May last week as she scrambled for cross-party consensus, the Prime Minister is not willing to compromise over her Brexit plans.

The Green Party’s Caroline Lucas told the BBC: “I asked her what she would be willing to potentially change and I got no answer.

“She’s blackmailing MPs hoping to run down the clock by trying to force them to accept her deal because that’s better than crashing out with no deal.”

Recall that May’s deal was defeated in parliament on January 15, with 432 MPs voting against it and just 202 for.

A day after her deal was resoundingly rejected when members of parliament dealt a crushing blow to the Brexit plan she negotiated with the European Union (EU), May survived a no-confidence vote.

Her blushes were spared during the no-confidence vote after parliament members voted 325 to 306 against the motion called by opposition Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn, who called on the Prime Minister to resign earlier.
