Prince William and Kate Middleton welcome a daughter

The royal family via their official Tweeter page has just announced the birth of a princess to the family. It was announced as follows:

“Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a daughter at 8.34am.”
Then followed by another tweet:

“Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well.”
Hundreds of fans are gathered in front of St Mary’s Hospital, London waiting to see the new addition to the royal family.

Before she was born, the royal family had kept her gender under wraps causing fans to place bets.

The new princess is the fourth in the line of succession behind her grandfather, her father and her two-year-old brother.
