Pro-Buhari group wants APC to expel disloyal party members

The Buhari Media Organisation (BMO) has asked the All Progressives Congress (APC) to evict members of the party that have recently displayed traces of disloyalty from the party.

It further demanded that their party tickets be withdrawn and given to other committed members of the party.

The organisation made the call on Tuesday in a press release signed by its Chairman, Niyi Akinsiju and Secretary, Cassidy Madueke.

The statement said the perceived erring members of the party should be made to face the rule of the party.

Members of the party have reportedly fallen out with the party following the outcome of primary elections held recently.

The organisation alleged top members of the party whose preferred candidates did not win the party tickets of instructing their loyalists to pursue their ambition in other parties while promising their support.

Gov. Ibikunle Amosun had openly threatened to use “everything I have” to work against the victory of the governorship candidate of APC, Dapo Abiodun in the state and had gone ahead to pledge his support for the candidate of the Allied People’s Movement (APM), Adekunle Akinlade who has remained his preferred candidate.

“We are disappointed that some ranking APC members who are actually founding members of the ruling party have encouraged some of their associates who lost out in the recent party primaries to seek elective offices on the platforms of other parties

“It is wrong for these party chieftains to publicly exhibit acts of disloyalty and still expect to be accorded respect and rewarded by the ruling party

“If they feel their associates are good enough to contest on another platform, they should also go pick the tickets of those parties

“We at BMO therefore call on APC leadership to sanction these leaders by withdrawing their party tickets and give them to more loyal members”, it said

On the danger in this adventure by some of the members of the party, the group said, “It may be counterproductive to expect party supporters to vote for APC in the Presidential election and thumb print the ballot for some other parties in other elections

“This could lead to confusion and render some of the votes meant for the party candidates invalid.”
